THE INSIDE STORY

After years of struggle, I managed to win air time on this listener-sponsored Pacifica station in 1990. Interviewing scientists, environmentalists and activists, I tried to educate the public about the positive side of the environment and motivate people to become involved with the Earth.

Unfortunately, after deposing of an eco-friendly program director, the narrow-minded extremists in charge, antagonistic to anything other than their personal interests, political cant, or big money-making shows, summarily dismissed me in 1995.

Ever since, they've barred me from their program council meetings, and their program directors refuse to take my phone calls or reply to my messages or e-mails.

If you think it's important to bring back these kinds of shows (listen to some of them and judge for yourself) on a station mandated to present alternative programming absent from commercial radio, please call Program Director Bernard White at (212) 209-2835, and e-mail him or his associates to urge them to turn over a new leaf.
