Here's my first TV talk show appearance, beardless, at the dawn of my career, on the world's longest-running TV show.

Joe Franklin, well-known as a nostalgia specialist, would invite any unknown show-biz (or foraging) aspirant onto his talk show. You just had to phone him twice a week for 2 to 3 months (he answered calls personally) to get on the air.

I greatly appreciated the opportunity, even though the show aired in the wee hours of the morning.
